Junk removal in Windsor Terrace

Quiet blocks between Prospect Park and Green-Wood, and a lot of houses that have been in the same family a very long time.

Windsor Terrace sits in the pocket between Prospect Park and Green-Wood Cemetery, a short run from our base on 20th St. The housing is smaller in scale than the Slope: two and three story row houses and semi-detached homes, a fair number with a driveway or a garage, which is rare enough in Brooklyn to matter.

It is also one of the most settled neighborhoods we work in. Plenty of these houses have been held by the same family for thirty or forty years, sometimes longer, and that shows up in the work. Basements, attics, and garages here hold decades rather than a lease cycle.

So a lot of what we do in Windsor Terrace is the patient kind of job. Estate clearances, downsizing ahead of a sale, clearing a parent's house, and the full basement-to-attic cleanouts that come with all of it. We work room by room, set aside anything the family wants kept, and take our time with it.

Estate work, handled with patience

Clearing a family home isn't a normal junk job. We move at the family's pace, set aside anything you want kept, and donate what's still usable before the rest goes out.

On the ground

What working in Windsor Terrace actually involves.

  • Smaller houses, and some actual driveways

The scale here works in your favor. Two and three story homes mean fewer flights than the Slope, and a meaningful number of properties have a driveway, a garage, or a back yard we can stage from. That usually turns a long carry into a short one.

  • Parking that mostly cooperates

Curb space around Prospect Park Southwest and the streets off Fort Hamilton Parkway is easier than almost anywhere else we cover. We can generally get the truck close to the door, which keeps a big cleanout moving instead of turning it into a relay down the block.

  • What we clear most here

Estate and full-house clearances lead by a wide margin. After that it is basements, attics, and garages that have been filling since the eighties, downsizing jobs ahead of a sale, and yard clearing, sheds, old fencing, and patio furniture, from the properties with real outdoor space.
